I have created a universe where a celestial child, its companion, and planet were born out of the Big Bang! Explore their story below! Created using Autodesk Maya. Unfortunately, the process on how this was produced was not recorded in any way.
Little Light
As a requirement for my 3D Modeling subject, we were tasked with creating a world inspired from the novel, Little Prince. It had to be aligned with our principles and our meaning of life. It all started with a sketch that best represents my young and giddy original character, Lumi and Mato.
Ideation Process
Before the stars learned to shine and before gravity sculpted the first galaxies, the universe existed in raw potential: a superheated cradle of energy and matter expanding in every direction. In the afterglow of this great beginning, where particles collided and fused in a symphony of cosmic chemistry, something unprecedented occurred. Consciousness sparked.
From a concentrated surge of electromagnetic light, a figure emerged. She formed slowly, her outline flickering like the first dawn in a newborn cosmos. Her name would one day be spoken across galaxies: Lumi, the Child of Light. Her essence was woven from photons and color, her breath synced with the pulse of radiation that cooled the universe into stability. Wherever she moved, light followed.
Nearby, as atomic nuclei assembled into the first stable elements—hydrogen, helium, and the earliest traces of matter — a second consciousness unfolded. Gentle but precise, built from balance and structure, he observed the universe with quiet curiosity. Mato, shaped by the simplest atom and carrying the knowledge of every element to come, drifted through the expanding void with a sense of emerging purpose. Though neither knew the other yet, they shared an origin deeper than lineage. They were born from the same cosmic moment, siblings of creation.
Lumi grew brighter with each passing millennium. Her light stretched across regions where stars had yet to ignite. As she evolved, fragments of her radiant form — pure, golden, and warm like the heart of a young star — shed into space. From these shimmering remnants, a new being blossomed. A sunflower-shaped entity with petals of plasma and a gentle gravitational pull. Lumi named her Helianthus, a child born not of biology but of cosmic overflow. Helianthus mirrored the warmth of her mother, glowing softly as she drifted, always returning to Lumi’s side.
But even in a young universe, imbalance rises early.
Across forming planets, especially on a turbulent blue world called Earth, unstable energies brewed: reactive charges, radioactive surges, corrupted particle clouds. These disturbances spread like ripples, creating pockets of decay known as Type B disease. Wherever these dark fields concentrated, they brought disruption by dimming stars, poisoning atmospheres, and weakening even beings of light.
One cycle, as Mato surveyed a failing star system, he sensed distress nearby. A soft golden glow—once vibrant — was muffled beneath layers of cosmic moss and spore-like mold. It was Helianthus, struggling, her petals dimming. Type B contamination.
And within the haze, Lumi cried out.
Her voice traveled not through sound but through light itself, a flare that carried both fear and determination.
At that moment, Mato changed course. He had never met Lumi, yet the urgency in her radiance resonated with the deepest laws of matter itself. Something ancient within him recognized her.
Light needs matter. Matter needs light.
Their paths aligned.
As the universe continued its silent expansion, two primordial beings — one of light, one of atoms — approached each other for the very first time. Not as strangers, but as counterparts shaped by the same cosmic heartbeat.
Together, they would search for the antidote to Helianthus’s decay. Together, they would restore harmony to planets slipping into imbalance. And together, they would uncover a truth that would redefine their purpose.
The universe could only survive if its first children chose to stand united.
And so began the Age of Restoration, the opening chapter in Lumi and Mato’s story — a story destined to echo across galaxies for eons.
